We know the Earth has a limited supply of fossil fuels. We also know, human nature being what it is, that we will never seriously start developing alternative energy sources with the same level of enthusiasm we currently have for fossil fuels until our supply of fossil fuels seriously starts to run short. Is it not therefore our global, environmental duty to use up as much fossil fuel now as quickly as we can? Because the sooner they start running out, the sooner governments and companies will start funding research into solar, wind, wave, hydro-electric, and all those other green power sources, which in the long run will be much better for the planet. So, leave those lights on, stoke up that log fire, buy a big four-wheel drive and drive it by yourself down the transit lane. Mother Earth will thank you in the long run.
